We invite members of the NIME community at any stage of their career to participate in this full-day workshop.
We hope to gather people who are interested in exploring ways of knowing and ways of theorising NIME research that are less inclined towards innovation,
and together move beyond questions of individual responsibilities and try and make larger scale community reflections.
No prerequisite knowledge is demanded to participate.
Submission
To join, we ask potential participants to submit a short value statement with reflections on their own practice and whether or how their research
contributes to building a world that corresponds to their values.
Reflections can take any shape or form, including music, other multimedia, poetry, drawings, text etc. Texts and visual media should be no longer than 2 pages and temporal media should be no longer than 5 minutes.
Difficult, ambivalent and open-ended reflections are welcome.
Submissions should be uploaded as a zip folder to Nextcloud. Since submissions are made 'anonymously' on Nextcloud,
make sure to include your name and email address in the submission, either in a separate file within the zip or as part of the main material.
This is for us to be able to identify submission authors and get back in touch with you.
Deadline for submissions: June 9 23:59 AoE
Participant notification: June 12 16:00 CET
Workshop Participation
We will ask each participant to briefly share their submission at the beginning of the workshop, if they agree.
Authors of accepted submissions are expected to attend the full-day workshop at NIME 2026 in person, and must register to the conference.
